Report of the 15th Mission to India (Provision of Foodstuffs)

On Tuesday, the 4th of May 2009, "Heart Doctors" visited Andhra Pradesh in South Eastern India where they purchased various staple food commodities from local markets and offered them to starving poor villagers.

Andhra Pradesh is a state in India situated on the south-eastern area of the country. Hyderabad is the capital of the state. It is the fourth largest state of India by area and the fifth largest by population. Agriculture is the main source of income (rice, sugar cane, cotton, mango, tobacco).

Information technology and biotechnology are important activities. The existing mineral wealth is also important (coal reserves, natural gas and petroleum).
