Report of the 18th Mission to India (Provision of clothing to schoolchildren)

On Sunday, the 12th of June 2011, "Heart Doctors" visited Andhra Pradesh state in South Eastern India where they purchased clothing for school children and distributed it to students of very poor families living in the provinces of the state. They also offered school material (note books, pencils etc).

Andhra Pradesh is a state in India situated on the south-eastern area of the country. Hyderabad is the capital of the state. It is the fourth largest state of India by area and the fifth largest by population. Agriculture is the main source of income (rice, sugar cane, cotton, mango, tobacco).

Information technology and biotechnology are important activities. The existing mineral wealth is also important (coal reserves, natural gas and petroleum). The largest proportion of the population corresponds to the utterly poor.
