TANZANIA 6th Mission

A four member team of Heart Doctorsvisited Tanzania (Mwanza area) and offered medical services and medicaments to poor populations living in remote agricultural areas. The local organization of the mission and the contacts with the Authorities of Tanzania (for granting the required permissions) were arranged very efficiently by the Reverend Archbishop Jeronymos of Western Tanzania.

The team worked in 7 villages where thousands of sick people gathered. The more frequent health problems were malaria, anemia, parasites, problems of the eye, skin diseases, infections of the respiratory system; many people suffered from epilepsy.

The people of the region were farmers employed mainly in rice fields and other crops; they were peaceful and polite. They all suffer from lack of clean water they use water collected from open cavities in the ground.
