8th Mission NIGER

On Monday, the 5th of January 2015, a team of Heart Doctors, flying by helicopter from Abuja, visited Zinder, a city of Southern Niger. The purpose of the visit was to buy from markets in Niger certain staple foodstuffs and offer them to poor nomadic populations of shepherds staying in the wider area of Zinder. This land suffers now from drought and as a result people and animals are starving.

Heart Doctors purchased maize and milk powder for children; these commodities were distributed to representatives of Fulani, Tuareg and Hausa ethnic groups who transported them by donkeys to the places where they stayed with their herds.
