11th Mission NIGER

On Tuesday, the 29th of August 2017, a team of `Heart Doctors` left Athens and through Khartoum and Abuja reached Zinder, a city of southern Niger (together with an official from the Embassy of Niger State in Khartoum). The purpose of the visit was to buy from markets of the Republic of Niger certain staple foodstuffs and offer them to poor nomadic populations of shepherds staying in the wide area around Zinder. This land suffers now from drought and hunger.

Heart Doctors purchased rice, wheaten flour, milk powder for children and corn flour. These commodities were distributed to representatives of Fulani, Tuareg and Hausa ethnic groups who transported them by animals to the places where they stay with their herds.
