32nd Mission INDIA

On Thursday, the 9th of May 2019, a team of members of the Greek humanitarian Organization Heart Doctors with cooperating volunteers and friends visited the seaside city of Puri in Odisha State (Eastern India, Bay of Bengal), in order to offer relief to the victims of cyclone Fani which hit Odisha on the 3rd of May 2019.

The team purchased and offered for free distribution the following items: dahl, rice, dhotis for men, saris for women, sandals for men and slippers for women.

The tropical cyclone Fani affected the State of Odisha as one of the worst storms to hit the country since 1999. It brought winds of more than 200 kilometers per hour speed which caused 10.000 deaths and damaged or destroyed infrastructure and buildings leaving millions of households homeless. Many cities were seriously affected (Puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Khurda etc.).
