Report of the 2nd Mission to Benin (inauguration of the homeless blind house)

On Friday, 12.6.2009, a team of Heart Doctors visited Cotonou, the largest city in Benin, in order to inaugurate the building that had been erected there by the Organization to house the homeless blind of the city. Alexander, the Archbishop of Nigeria, performed the inauguration ceremony; many local Christians and other people were present including the consul of Russia. A diner was offered to about 100 people who celebrated joyfully for the event by dancing and chanting.

The building consists of 10 separate rooms divided by a corridor into two equal parts of 5 rooms each. The construction works were supervised by the Archbishop of Nigeria.

Cotonou is a maritime city; its atmosphere is hot, damp and suffocating.
